Welcome to the home page of Creighton Rugby Club

Creighton Rugby Club in Carlisle can be found at Sycamore Lane, Parkland having moved across the city in 2006 from their previous home at Carr’s Field off Newtown Road. The club was formed in 1927 by former pupils of the long-gone Creighton School and was originally named Creighton Old Boys.

A plot of land at Carr’s Field was purchased from Carr’s biscuit factory in the 1960’s and eventually a clubhouse was built. The club remained there until February 2007 when we took possession of our new £1.25 million clubhouse at Parkland.

The club run two adult teams at the moment which play most Saturday’s throughout the season from late August to May. The First XV compete in the Cumbria League. The team is essentially a young one with a sprinkling of old heads and we hope they will progress this season to even better things.

The Second XV are more of a social team, a mixture of young and old who simply enjoy a game of rugby and the camaraderie that goes with it. Training is every Monday and Wednesday at 6.45pm.

Even if you are not a fan of rugby, please feel free to drop in and use the clubhouse facilities which consist of a comfortable bar, the conservatory restaurant and a superb function room which can seat 120 at a time. You don’t have to be a member of the club and you will be made to feel most welcome. Sky Sports and ESPN are available in the bar and big events are aslo shown on the screen in the Parkland Suite.

The opening hours are 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. every weekday and midday to 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Restaurant

The conservatory restaurant is now open Thursday and Friday evenings, all day Saturday and Sunday lunch time.

Bar meals are also available.
